Data Flow: Digital Influence
Town Hall Gallery, Hawthorn Arts Centre, Melbourne, Australia, 3 March - 12 April 2015.

In the post-digital era the form and practice contemporary art is informed by the languages of digital media. Often creative work in this domain explores digital content, such as the Internet, or formal aspects, such as the pixel, rather than the underlying systems of digital media itself.

Speak. Think. Transform. is an interactive installation and collective of abstract artworks that take a digital program as the basis of their form and composition as material artworks. In this way, they not only reference the digital in their aesthetic but are also a digital transliteration of digital code into an abstract artwork, resulting in a deeper relationship between form and content that explores the feedback loops and echo chambers that we experience in today’s unrelenting flow of information.
